| Information Collected and Stored Automatically |
When a user browses the Legacy Tobacco Documents Library, executes searches, or downloads documents, certain information about the visit is
gathered and stored automatically.
Information that is automatically collected and stored includes:
- the Internet domain and IP address from which the LTDL was accessed,
- the date and time the LTDL was accessed,
- the type of browser and operating system used to access the LTDL,
- the pages visited, and
- the address of the last site visited before linking to the LDTL.
This automatically gathered information is analyzed to make the site more useful to visitors and to assess system
performance or identify problems. We also aggregate such data to report, for example, how many visitors use the site on a
monthly or yearly basis. The Library does not track the searches or document requests of individual users.
