Description The witness, former Director of Applied Research for Philip Morris, continued to testify as a fact witness on behalf of the plaintiffs. He described the goals of the research he did at Philip Morris. He claimed that Philip Morris provided its Research & Development employees that included recommended responses to any questions about what the company was doing on smoking and health. For example, if an employee were asked what is in cigarette smoke that causes cancer they were prompted to answer with suggested responses.
