The testimony of the plaintiff's fact witness, the former Director of Applied Research at Philip Morris, continued. He explained how filters can help to make cigarettes less dangerous and observed that Philip Morris has been using filters since the 1950s. He compared different types of ventilation methods and stated that Philip Morris used reconstituted tobacco because it can bring down tar levels. He discussed the effectiveness of three products on the market at reducing tar inhalation. He provided details of the circumstances leading to his and his wifes departure from Philip Morris. He summarized his prior expert witness testimony. He suggested that if there isnt enough nicotine in a cigarette's design, smokers will not buy the product no matter what the tar level.
